We are also considering establishing a “Reader’s Theatre.” Community members will have the opportunity to get together at local restaurants and libraries for an evening of script reading. If you are interested in organizing this group write to us at TwinBeachPlayers1@yahoo.com.
Community theatres are composed of volunteers who help breathe quality and energy into the performing arts. Theatre casts depend on volunteer members who give their time and skills to produce the plays and do the work necessary to run a theatre. As a community theatre, we emphasize using and developing local talent. The majority of the members reside in the Twin Beach communities. Some members have past theatrical training or professional theatre experience. Many have had little or no experience but have a desire to participate and learn theatre skills. All of the members are involved with every aspect of theatre work.
We always have an open door for new members to try out for our upcoming plays. Even if you've never participated before, we invite you to come and try your hand at community theatre. Membership is open to everyone. TBP has three classes of members:
(1) Regular Members are age 17 and older. Regular Members must pay dues (Current yearly dues are $20.00 per person). A Regular Member is entitled to vote in elections of directors, for changes to Bylaws, and on any other matters put to vote by the members. (2) Junior Members are members under the age of 17. Junior Members do not pay for dues and are not entitled to vote in elections of the directors or on changes to the Bylaws but may vote, at the discretion of the Board of Directors or membership, on other matters put to votes of the general membership. (3) Honorary Members are members designated by vote of the Board of Directors or the membership. Dues shall be waived for these members, who shall be entitled to vote for directors or on changes to Bylaws but may vote, at the discretion of the Board or members, on other matters put to votes of the general membership. (4) For further information, email twinbeachplayers1@yahoo.com.
